Straight ahead on the Tuesday morning sports update:

We?re gonna break with the conventional?and talk Boys-Girls Varsity and Boys JV Basketball standings

A major shake-up last night in Varsity hockey?s western conference?will have a major impact on how the varsity playoff standings look.

And a quick peek at JV and Junior High hockey playoff standings.

Good Morning, I?m Isaac Benishai.

Holiday Hangover?the SAR varsity hockey Sting?bounced by Kushner on the road last night?3-1. This paves the way for a possible 3 way tie between Frisch-Kushner and Ramaz for the 4th-5th-6th seeds. If Ramaz loses to MTA, Frisch loses to TABC and Kushner beats JEC?over the next 10 days?this scenario becomes a reality. Since Frisch-Kushner have more points than Ramaz?they would flip a coin to see who would be 4th or 5th seed. Ramaz would fall all the way down to the 6th seed.  SAR locks in the 3 seed in the division. TABC a virtual lock for number one. MTA a virtual lock for number two.

Varsity Hockey?s East?a little bit more settled. DRS-HAFTR, the rematch this Saturday night, might give us a clearer picture of the top seed in the East. Magen David locked in for the 3rd seed North Shore?HANC vying for the 4th-5th seeds. Rambam-Flatbush vying for the sixth and final playoff spot.

In JV Hockey?s eastern conference?DRS-Magen David-HANC?top 3 seeds. Rambam/HAFTR vie for the fourth and final playoff spot. TABC-MTA-Frisch-SAR top 4 seeds out West.

In the MYJHHL?s Eastern conference: a battle between HALB and HAFTR for top spot?HALB 7-0, HAFTR 6-0-0-1. Magen David, up 2 games on HANC for 3rd place in the East- The two face each other?a week from tomorrow night. Out in the west?Har Torah clinches the division?the #1 seed and a first round bye. Ashar will host a first round game. And YCQ/North Shore/Westchester, fighting for the 3rd and final playoff spot in that conference.

Upcoming MYJHHL games with playoff implications: HALB HAFTR, YCQ North Shore

In HAYMISH North: Yavneh clinches the #1 seed, perfect 8-0 record. Moriah takes second seed. Noam take third seed

In HAYMISH South: RPRY clinches the #1 seed, Kushner-Ramaz vying for the 2 and 3 seeds. They play against each other next Tuesday night to decide their fate. Ramaz leads the season series 1-0.

Boys varsity basketball: HAFTR---the last undefeated team?at 13-0 in the Eastern Division. Flatbush, MTA tied atop the central at 9-2. Same situation out west?as Frisch and Ramaz are tied for first at 9-1.
