I am really tired!
Tuesday, March 9th (7:50 AM) - If you want to understand how important it is to support JM in the AM, go to the archives and listen to Doctor Marc's pitch - he is the greatest!
Tuesday, March 9th (7:30 AM) - Boy, a lot to blog about this morning. Doc Singer and I were up and out of the house at 5:15 AM to join the festivities this morning. There a ton of people here - The King of Shlock, Joe Lazar, Bernie Dov, Avraham Zamest, Aron Teitelbaum from Neginah, great food from Reubens Glatt Spot, Cantor Joel Caplan are just a few of the guests here this morning. Senator Carl Kruger has just pledged $25,000 which has really created a buzz here. The kids from Kushner are here and the guys from Macslive.com - what a day!
Monday, March 8th (7:58 AM NY Time) - Elly Kleinman from Americare was just on the air - what a great guy and tremendous Baal Tzedakah who does such great things for Klal Yisroel. Thanks for coming to the studio, Elly!
Larry and Ronnie Birnbaum just became our first $2700 pledgers of the week - also great people and wonderful supporters of ours in so many ways! Thanks for visiting and thanks for your support!
Monday, March 8th (7:15 AM NY Time) - Talk about hearing so much about someone and finally meeting them. My very dear and old friend, Steve Tover, always spoke about his old and dear friend, Clark Loffman, and where else do i finally meet him but here in the JM studio? What a nice guy and take a look at the fish hero sandwich in the gallery later on today. Good luck Clark - it looks like you got a winner at Fish of the C's in Teaneck! (201-928-1200)
Monday, March 8th ( 6:44 AM NY time) - So here I am, blogging from the studio. BH, we are still having those fascinating in depth discussions that make marathon time so special. What flavors of Coke can you taste in headquarters in Atlanta? Who cares about the Academy Awards? You gotta love this stuff!
A big thanks to Doctor Marc for hosting me last night and this week - also, thanks for the ride to the Bas Mitzvah, Doc! Also, thanks to Josh B. for visiting last night!!
Mazel Tov to Chava Segal on a great celebration yesterday - it was a classy, fun event and kudos to sister-in-law Staci, who planned and executed a great party!
Friday, March 5th (4:00 PM Jerusalem Time) - Have a great Shabbos!! See you on Monday
Thursday, March 4th (4:15 PM Jerusalem Time) - Once again, my blogging efforts are thwarted by unforeseen circumstances. Will probably not get a chance tomorrow so stay tuned for Week 2 blogging live in the studio!
Thursday, March 4th (1:32 PM Jerusalem time) - Hope Mark is happy! I love this Mattes matching program - I just called to pledge $5 - I hope he matches me!
Yesterday, I finally heard the archives late in the day and heard the big announcements - Abish Brodt is coming??? That is amazing - too bad he won't sing live but it will be great to see him there. Also, the Camp Morasha legends will be in and Barry Liben is up to 30 percent??? It could really happen!! I am psyched! Will check back later for more goings on - keep pledging!!
Wednesday, March 3rd (1:15 PM Jerusalem time) - I have to go meet someone at 1:45 pm and of course, Nachum says he is making a big announcement sometime during this hour! I hope I catch it! Don't you love when Nachum talks about food? "Halvah is one of the greatest creations in the history of mankind" - unreal!!
Nachum just yelled at Mark on the air-just wanted everyone to know.
Hey, Nach, does this mean that Rabbi Nate Segal is now the KAING of KAIRUV??????
Big Executive Decision is being announced at 6:30 AM.... which design will be the one chosen for the 2010 jersey? YES MARK - SEND PICTURES!!!!! Dont you love how these guys are deciding about how something looks ON THE RADIO WHEN WE CANT SEE WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT?????? Anyway, will check back later to see what 3 coups Nachum pulled off! Gotta go to a meeting - I need to take off when the marathon is on!
Tuesday, March 2nd (9:36 PM Israel time) - So I am listening to the Lenny Solomon interview on archives- I didnt realize that Nachum and Lenny were at each other's throats over how many Facebook friends they have??? Wow - this was a dramatic moment that they addressed this conflict on the air!! As Doctor Marc says, they had a huge Face(book)off! Seriously, I hope we get a chance to see Lenny at the studio while he is in the US. He is a good friend of the show's and Nachum's for many years!
Tuesday, March 2nd (3:30 PM Israel time) - Just tuned back in (between meetings) and the Bruriah crowd is being interviewed by Nachum. So far, Nachum has convinced one student to donate her winnings from the Nobel Prize for Medicine and another to pull a prank on her new neighbor, Mattes Weingast!! Aliza (Starshevsky) Blumenthal is on the air along with Rabbi Chaim Hagler - it is great to have these wonderful people and their students in the studio.
I missed EJ's this morning and Main Event yesterday - I just heard yesterday I am missing sushi this Friday from our good friend, Josh Berkowitz of Eden Wok in New Rochelle - I can't believe this - who is bringing sushi for me next week????
I can't believe I missed Lenny Solomon - I need to hear the archive of that conversation!
Tuesday, March 2nd (2:22 PM Israel time) - Another tidbit Mark just repeated from Ken's report yesterday. WFMU as a whole has just as many listeners on the web as on the radio. That is unreal. JM is close but still has more radio listeners. I am hearing some really great pledges from a lot of different places worldwide - that is great, keep them coming!
Tuesday, March 2nd (1:27 PM Israel time) - Just was able to tune in - meeting went shorter than I thought. Mark is asking a question of Nachum assuming he is shorter than he is - I love these questions!. Business class vs. coach - stopping vs. non-stop - you can't get quality radio like this anywhere, people!
Tuesday, March 2nd (12:54 PM Israel time) - Ok, so I didn't end up blogging again yesterday - that's because it was Purim here in the Holy city! Thanks to Doc Singer for being my official blog partner and listener and updating me on some of the goings on on Day 1. Ken Freedman gave his annual State of the Station address and announced that the transmitter antenna has been put up and is just experiencing some technical glitches and should be working soon. He also thanked those who donated to the emergency one day fundraiser several months ago to help close the budget shortfall. I look forward to updating you later today on Day 2 goings on - thanks again to Doc for his help!
3/1/10 - 9:35 AM (Jerusalem Time) - It is so early in NJ that even Nachum is still sleeping! So the annual question comes up again - do I blog from Israel during the first week even though I will only be at the second week of the Marathon? Due to the overwhelming response I receive every year to my blogging expertise, and because Nachum says I should and he is bigger than me, I have decided to forge ahead. Now, today, being that I am celebrating Purim in the Holy City, it might be hard for me to blog appropriately during or right after the show. So I am starting now and will hopefully fill in the blanks later.
First and foremost, a big advance thanks to our dear friend and official JM in the AM cardiologist Dr. Marc Singer, for hosting me during my visit next week to the US. As always Doc, thanks for everything and cant wait to meet at the HOUSE again this year!! It is so nice to be able to come to the US and feel just as much at home as I do here and that's all thanks to Doc!
